This Wednesday, Apsis Motion Pictures participated in this year’s 48 hour film festival in Baltimore. Our film, The Reclaimation of Louis Ledbetter, premiered on the big screen to a rousing reception by the audience. The film is now available for view on the group’s YouTube Page, but I’ll put it up here for you to check out as well.
Each team is assigned a genre, along with three requirements that are announced on Friday evening, and the teams have until the following Sunday evening to turn in a 4-7 minute film. The required elements for this film were:
Character: Louis Ledbetter, Neighborhood Busybody (Played by the brilliant Paul R. Sieber of Bite the Hand)
Prop: Dog collar
Line: “If you want me, you know where to find me.”
The Genre that we pulled out of a hat was “Dark Comedy”

In this episode of Genre Wars directed by World War 2 enthusiast Christian Swanberg, a squad of WWII soldiers encounters a posse of outlaws, both in search of the mystical “Onium”- an object of unknown properties.
Special thanks goes to Bob Novich for saving our bacon and pitching in as the lead character- his first major acting role since our own post-apocalyptic kung fu western, Line of Sight. Tyr Rollins of Apsis Motion Pictures also came out to lend a hand. Me? I was just happy to be the coordinator on a lot of great western action moments, and have a hand-to-hand with local fight performing legend PJ Megaw!
Over the years, Strike a Pose!!! Films has worked with a ton of talented people. As a group, some of our best memories feature Sam Anderson in wacky, and sometimes serious roles. So to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Strike a Pose! Films, Sam wrote up a little memoir for us to read about his experience on one of our most legendary movies, CURSE OF BODANGOFISH!
If there was ever one Strike A Pose!!! Films movie I was in that I will never forget, it had to be “Curse of the Bodangofish”. Dylan and I filmed this movie in Cape Hatteras after a body surfing incident left a scrape on my hip. What better inspiration to make a monster movie? Through a Ferry ride, a drive home, and at least 10 dug holes, we produced a movie that only a select few ever got to witness. My favorite part of the whole adventure was in the last 5 minutes of shooting when a scene had a frisbee being thrown, and in one of the takes it went a bit too high and hit me square in the lip. Did I mention that there was a cut-out piece of a plastic cup in my mouth at the time to create buck-teeth for my costume? And that there was ketchup in my mouth used for fake blood? There is no beter feeling than hearing the words “Cut!” and running into the ocean to clean out the sand, ketchup, and blood from your mouth. As our motto goes, “Good Times”. – Sam Anderson
In celebration, we will now post a never-before released full scene from CURSE OF BODANGOFISH, reformatted in HD and featuring some new tracks by the Funkyman himself! Enjoy, and hopefully, if the response is solid, we’ll have more scenes to show you before releasing the entire film on an order-only DVD!
It’s a couple of days late, but keeping up with tradition I’d like to wish cast and crew member Rob Ramirez a belated Happy Birthday from STRIKE A POSE!!! Films.
As per part of his birthday present, I will release a horribly amusing picture from the Gallery for the whole of the internet to see!
Rob has been with STRIKE A POSE!!! Films since the early days, starring in such wonders as Locked Blades and the now-classic “Joe Belivitz in: Car Trouble.” His most recent cinematic achievement was starring with the guys in Line of Sight (pictured above) for which he also garnered a credit as Fight Choreographer.
Also in celebration, Rob’s Cast and Crew page has now gone live. Rob is the second cast member to receive such an honor, so be sure to check it out and congratulate him, as well as give him his best on this most holiest of occasions!

Trevor Hintz, my younger brother, and actor in the early years of Strike a Pose!!! Films, turns 15 today. Its truly a day worth celebrating, and in doing so we’re gonna post a couple of old flicks, just to remind us of how awesome his acting was! And could still be! Just look at these chops!

The third film is still yet to be filmed, but may be done soon! Who knows? Depends on what the tyke asks for for his birthday!
But as for today, we salute Trevor’s efforts in Strike a Pose!!! Films, he’s been a big help and a big supporter, and we hope to have him in more movies! Happy Birthday bro!
